Pure Bliss Apple Ginger Scones

Experience pure delight with our Apple Ginger Scones, featuring tender apples and zesty ginger baked into fluffy scones for a heavenly treat.

Recommended Apple Variety:

Gala

Ingredients: 
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 6 TBSP cold butter
  • 2 Michigan Gala Apples, peeled and finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup candied ginger, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 tsp lemon zest
Ingredients – Glaze:
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 TBSP lemon juice
Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 400° F.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a large mixing bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Using a cheese grater, grate the cold butter into the flour mixture. Stir.
  5. Add chopped Gala apples and candied ginger.
  6. In a small bowl mix together the egg, cream, and lemon zest. Gently mix into apple mixture. Stir until dough forms.
  7. Knead dough 6 times.
  8. Place on parchment paper, and form into an 8-inch round. About 1 inch thick.
  9. Cut into 8 wedges; separate slightly.
  10. Bake for approximately 15 minutes until just lightly golden. Cool slightly.
  11. Combine glaze ingredients, and drizzle over scones. Now get ready for PURE BLISS  🙂 Enjoy!!!
