Mini Apple and Cheddar Grilled Cheese Bites
These Grilled Cheese Bites with Creamy Apple Butter Dipping Sauce are a sweet and savory twist on a classic, made with crisp Michigan Apples, sharp cheddar, and a tangy apple butter dip that’s perfect for snacking, sharing, or entertaining.

CREAMY APPLE BUTTER DIPPING SAUCE INGREDIENTS:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup prepared apple butter
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
GRILLED CHEESE BITES INGREDIENTS:
- 8 slices of sandwich bread (white, sourdough, or your favorite)
- 2 tablespoons room temperature unsalted butter
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 small Michigan Apple (like Honeycrisp or Gala), thinly sliced
- Pinch paprika
SERVING SIZE:

INSTRUCTIONS:
- Make the Dipping Sauce: In small bowl, stir mayonnaise, apple butter and lemon juice until smooth.
- Make the Grilled Cheese Bites: If desired, cut crusts off of bread slices. Place bread slices on work surface. Spread butter evenly on one side of each slice.
- Sprinkle cheese on unbuttered side of half the slices. Arrange thin apple slices on top of cheese. Sprinkle paprika over the apples.
- Top with remaining bread slices, buttered side facing out, forming sandwiches.
- Heat large skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place sandwiches in skillet and cook 3 to 4minutes per side, pressing gently, until bread is golden brown and cheese is melted. Remove from heat and let cool 1 minute.
- To serve, cut sandwiches into halves or quarters. Serve grilled cheese bites warm with creamy apple butter dipping sauce.
