(DeWitt, Mich.) – The Michigan Apple Committee received nearly 61,000 entries in their Health and Fitness Sweepstakes, the highest number of entries received for this sweepstakes!  All entries were placed in a random drawing to win one of three treadmills on behalf of the committee.

“Apples offer plenty of health benefits that may help aid weight loss,” said Diane Smith, Interim Executive Director of the Michigan Apple Committee.  “The Health and Fitness Sweepstakes is a great incentive for consumers to jump-start their fitness program, and get fit with Michigan Apples.”

Michigan Apple Committee advertised for the Health and Fitness sweepstakes on approximately 1.4 million Kwik-Lok® tags (2 ¾ inch square) affixed to the apple bags, and sent 4,500 Point of Purchase materials to retailers throughout the Midwest.

The sweepstakes began January 1, 2012 and ended March 31, 2012.  Participants had to be at least 18 years old at the time of their entry to be eligible to win one of three treadmills valued at $1,000 each.

The winners drawn at random are:

  • Shelley S. of Kempner, TX
  • Janet M. of Detroit, MI
  • Lorraine C. of Boyd, TX

To enter, participants were to register at MichiganApples.com/sweepstakes where they could find the official rules, including entry instructions, prize details and odds of winning.  Only one entry per day per person was permitted during the sweepstakes period.
