Lansing, Mich. – Consumers can crunch a Michigan Apple or enjoy a Michigan Apple product on Crunch Day, October 15. Michigan Apple Crunch Day celebrates healthy eating, promotes farm-to-school purchasing, and supports the Michigan Apple industry by inviting schools, early care education sites, non-profits, businesses, and individuals to collectively crunch a Michigan Apple on Crunch Day in celebration of National Farm-to-School Month and Michigan Apple Month. If you can’t crunch on October 15th, feel free to crunch on any day in October.
The Michigan Apple Committee has expanded its involvement with Michigan Apple Crunch Day in the past year, taking the lead on rebranding Crunch Day, collaborating with MSU Extension to expand participation in the crunch beyond schools and early care education sites, and engaging consumers of all ages in tasting the great flavor of Michigan Apples while learning more about the Michigan Apple industry.
“Michigan Apple Crunch Day is a fun way to get a taste of Michigan Apples,” said Diane Smith, Executive Director of the Michigan Apple Committee. “We hope this collaboration and rebrand helps us increase participation and encourages people to join in the crunch and celebrate the Michigan Apple Industry.”
