Michigan Apples Bring Fresh Flavor to Fall Family Events
Lansing, Mich. – This fall, Michigan Apples is sponsoring family-friendly fun events across Michigan and Illinois, connecting with consumers through seasonal celebrations, educational activities and Spartan Athletics. Michigan Apples has a busy fall schedule, with events and partnerships that give MAC opportunities to connect with consumers.
The Michigan Apple Committee will continue its longstanding support of Zoo Boo at the Detroit Zoo and Spooky Zoo at Lincoln Park Zoo. For the first time, Michigan Apples will also participate in Boo! at the Zoo at Brookfield Zoo and Halloween Happenings hosted by the Naperville Park District. Michigan Apples will provide fresh apples for the trick-or-treat trails at these events, offering a sweet and healthy treat for kids.
Michigan Apples will also participate in Science Works at the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry. Science Works is a hands-on, career fair-style event where kids can learn about the wide range of STE(A)M careers available. Michigan Apples will conduct starch tests to show kids how growers determine whether an apple is ripe and highlight the important role scientists play in agriculture.
As part of our continued partnership with MSU Athletics, Michigan Apples will also be at select Michigan State home football games speaking with Spartan fans about finding their favorite varieties and giving away fresh apples as a great pregame snack.
“Fall is an exciting time to connect families with Michigan Apples,” said Diane Smith, executive director of the Michigan Apple Committee. “These events give us a meaningful way to share fresh apples while highlighting their health benefits and highlighting the value of the Michigan Apple industry, while engaging face-to-face with our target audience.

Michigan’s apple industry is powered by 850 multigenerational farm families—many now in their fourth or fifth generation—dedicated to growing world-class fruit. Consumers can support local growers by visiting cider mills, farm markets, and agri-tourism destinations, or by choosing Michigan-grown apples at their local grocery store.
The Michigan Apple Committee works on behalf of Michigan apple growers through marketing, research, education, and outreach to increase consumption, support growers, and ensure a strong and sustainable apple industry. To learn more, visit MichiganApples.com.
