Traverse City, Mich. – Paula Fisher, 2005 Michigan Apple Queen, will be participating in the Cherry Royale Parade held at the National Cherry Festival in Traverse City on July 9. The National Cherry Festival draws a crowd in excess of a half million people on average over an eight-day period. This year's festival will run from July 2 through July 9, with the Cherry Royale Parade as one of the highlights on the closing day of festivities.

Fisher, of Berrien Springs will be joined by first runner-up Emily Westendorp of Dowagiac, and second runner-up Ashley Wright of Belding. The Michigan Apple royalty will be riding the Michigan Apple Industry Float, which has been designed in a Fairy Tale theme by former Michigan Apple Queen, Janna Klein.

“I am proud and enthusiastic about representing Michigan apples this summer at various parades and events across the state,” said Fisher.

The Cherry Royale Parade at the National Cherry Festival is one of more than a dozen events the apple industry's representatives will be involved in this summer.
