Holland, Mich. – Come enjoy tulips in bloom and the Michigan apple float in the Tulip Time Festival Parade! The 2004 Michigan Apple Queen and a newly-redesigned float will appear in the “Muziekparade” at the Tulip Time Festival in Holland on Saturday, May 8, at 2 p.m. The float and the queen are sponsored by the Michigan Apple Committee.

The 2004 Michigan Apple Queen, Amanda Schweitzer of Sparta, along with first runner-up Amanda Morlock of Watervliet, and second runner-up Kala Winkel of Watervliet will be waving to the crowd from the orchard-themed 2004 Michigan Apple Industry Float, designed by 2003 Queen Janna Klein.

The Holland parade is one of more than a dozen events the apple industry's “royalty” will be involved in this summer.

“I am excited to be a part of the Tulip Time Festival's 75th anniversary celebration and look forward to representing the Michigan apple industry on our beautiful float during the Muziekparade,” said Schweitzer.

The Tulip Time Festival is celebrating its 75th year, and was voted by Reader's Digest as the “Best Small Town Festival in America”. More information can be found at www.tuliptime.com.
