Cider Mills, Farm Markets Offer Fall Family Fun

Be a Part of Michigan’s Fall Apple Tradition
LANSING, Mich. – As the 2023 Michigan Apple harvest continues, it’s time for apple fans and cider enthusiasts to plan their trips to their favorite farm markets and cider mills. With tried and true favorite varieties now being harvested, consumer excitement is increasing as we head into October.
“Visiting farm markets for freshly picked apples, or sipping apple cider with fresh donuts is part of the culture if you live in Michigan,” said Diane Smith, Executive Director of the Michigan Apple Committee. “When the calendar flips to October, apples are top-of-mind.”
Michigan Apple Committee’s newly redesigned website will direct apple fans to cider mills and farm markets in their area. Visit https://www.michiganapples.com/find-mi-apples/ to find a location near you.
Of course, apples and cider aren’t the only offerings at these agri-tourism destinations. Families can find everything from crafting events to 5K races to goat yoga at these autumn tourist destinations.
“A full day of activity can be enjoyed at farm markets and cider mills all over Michigan,” said Smith. “These family-owned businesses have built great entertainment venues over the years that join the fun fall tradition of apples and cider with exciting events and attractions.”
The Michigan Apple Committee is a grower-funded nonprofit organization devoted to marketing, education and research activities to distinguish the Michigan apple and encourage its consumption in Michigan and around the world. For more information, visit www.MichiganApples.com.
