St. Joseph, Mich. – Pauline Wendzel, 2007 Michigan Apple Queen, will be participating in the Blossomtime Grand Floral Parade on May 5. The Blossomtime Festival is the first local event for the 2007 Michigan Apple Queen.

The Blossomtime Festival is a longstanding tradition in Southwest Michigan, taking place for more than 100 years while the apple trees are in bloom. There are generally between 110 and 125 units in the Blossomtime Grand Floral Parade and as many as 250,000 spectators have been known to attend.

Wendzel, of Watervliet, will be joined by first runner-up Leah Rasch of Conklin and second runner-up Annah Nyblad of Casnovia. The Michigan-themed apple industry float was designed by 2003 Michigan Apple Queen Janna Klein.

The Michigan Apple Committee is a grower-funded nonprofit organization devoted to promotion, education and research activities to distinguish the Michigan apple and encourage its consumption by consumers in Michigan and around the world. For more information, visit www.MichiganApples.com.
