Breakfast Apple Corndogs
These breakfast corndogs are fun, comforting, and easy to share. The combination of juicy Michigan Apples, moist pancake batter (made with applesauce), and sausage links makes for the perfect sweet and savory breakfast.

Recommended Apple Varieties:
Ambrosia, EverCrisp®, Honeycrisp
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 box pancake mix (follow ingredients on box, replace butter/oil for apple sauce)
- 2 Michigan apples, peeled and diced
- 6 breakfast sausage links
- 4 cups vegetable oil
- 1 cup maple syrup
- ½ cup powdered sugar
SERVES:
2 people
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Peel and small dice apples.
2. Mix pancake mix according to box instructions, replacing oil/butter with applesauce.
3. Fold diced apples into batter and set aside.
4. Pre-cook and brown breakfast sausage links. Once cooked, place on paper towels and dry well. Once cooled and dry, place skewers in one end of link.
5. Heat oil to 350F.
6. Dip sausage into pancake batter and immediately place into hot oil. Laying the top portion in oil first and ending with stick. Fry until golden brown and drain on paper towel.
7. To serve, sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with maple syrup.
