Michigan Apple Cream Tart

Ingredients:
- 4 cups sliced, peeled Michigan Apple variety of your choice, or alternatively, Michigan Apple Pie Filling
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/3 cup nonfat sour cream
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 refrigerated pie crust

Directions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine Michigan Apples, the 1/2 cup sugar, flour, walnuts, and cinnamon. Set aside.
- In a small mixing bowl, combine sour cream, egg, and 2 tablespoons sugar. Set aside.
- Place pie crust on a 12-inch pizza pan. Seal any cracks. Place the Apple mixture in the center of the pie crust, leaving a 3-inch pastry rim. Pull up the edges of the pie crust, covering part of the Apple filling, pleating the pie crust edge every 2 inches. Pour the sour cream mixture carefully over the Apples.
- Bake in 375°F oven for about 50 minutes or until pastry is golden and Apples are tender. Serve warm or cold.
Variation:
- Use a 21-ounce can of Michigan Apple Pie Filling in place of fresh Apples, 1/2 cup sugar, and flour. Stir the cinnamon into the pie filling before placing it on the pie crust.
