The Michigan Apple Committee is ringing in the new school year with a new school sweepstakes. Students have from September until April to collect proofs of purchase from Michigan Apple bags, and can then send them in for entries into a random drawing for up to $3,000.
The Michigan Apple School Sweepstakes aims to help students eat more healthy apples, raise awareness that most Michigan apples are sold in bags and learn more about the Michigan apple industry.
“Most of Michigan's apples are sold in bags. The bags can be anywhere from two to ten pounds of apples. We hope this helps raise families' awareness that buying Michigan usually means buying bags of Michigan apples,” said Denise Yockey, Executive Director of the Michigan Apple Committee.
All of the information about the Michigan Apple School Sweepstakes, including official contest rules, can be found at MichiganApples.com/schoolsandkids. Any accredited public or private K-12 school in Michigan can participate.
The Michigan Apple Committee is a grower-funded nonprofit organization devoted to promotion, education and research activities to distinguish the Michigan apple and encourage its consumption by consumers in Michigan and around the world. For more information and recipes, visit MichiganApples.com.
