“We were honored to be a partner with this program once again,” said Julie Ard, director of resort marketing for BOYNE.  “We support many Michigan products in our establishments, and by participating in the sweepstakes, we hoped to bring even more exposure to Michigan’s abundant agricultural offerings.”

Advertising for the sweepstakes were on 2 million Kwik-Lok® tags (2 ¾ inch square) affixed to the apple bags.  The giveaway was open to legal residents of Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin.  To enter, participants registered on the MAC website during the contest period of Sept. 1, 2011 through Dec. 31, 2011, prime Michigan Apple season.

The winners drawn at random are:

  • Christine B., Macomb, Mich.
  • Jon V., Indianapolis, Ind.
  • Susan J., Glen Carbon, Ill.

“We were happy to partner with BOYNE again for this great initiative to buy local,” said Diane Smith, MAC Interim Executive Director.  “This sweepstakes promoted Michigan as an ideal travel destination while supporting the state’s 900-family owned apple orchards.”

Winners received a vacation package for up to four people for three days, two nights lodging at Boyne Highlands or Boyne Mountain.  They will also receive an activity package for four including choice of ziplining, golfing or skiing/snowboarding.
