Holland, MI. – The Tulip Time Festival will host 2007 Michigan Apple Queen Pauline Wendzel of Watervliet at the Meijer Muziekparade on Saturday, May 12. The festival showcases millions of tulips and celebrates Dutch heritage with various cultural activities. Saturday's parade is considered the grand finale, and draws spectators from around the country.

The 2.4-mile parade route hosts area marching bands, floats, and giant helium balloons, as well as equestrian teams and entertainment. Klompen dancers will also perform throughout the parade route.

Wendzel will be accompanied by first runner-up Leah Rasch of Conklin and second runner-up Annah Nyblad of Casnovia on the Michigan-themed apple industry float, designed by 2003 Michigan Apple Queen Janna Klein.

The Michigan Apple Committee is a grower-funded nonprofit organization devoted to promotion, education and research activities to distinguish the Michigan apple and encourage its consumption by consumers in Michigan and around the world. For more information, visit www.MichiganApples.com.
