Search for 2012 Michigan Apple Queen has officially begun

DeWitt, Mich. – The search for the 2012 Michigan Apple Queen has started. Applications are now available from the Michigan Apple Committee.
Contestants must have a connection to the Michigan Apple industry and be between the ages of 17 and 23.
The pageant takes place during the Great Lakes Fruit and Vegetable Exposition on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011 at the DeVos Performance Hall located in Grand Rapids.
Each candidate will be ranked on poise, professionalism and apple industry knowledge by a panel of judges. The contestant earning the highest score will be crowned queen. The queen will receive a scholarship as well as participate in various festivals, parades and events as an ambassador for the Michigan Apple industry.
