Michigan Apple Queen and Court At Thanksgiving Day Parade

Chicago, Ill. – Paula Fisher, 2005 Michigan Apple Queen, will participate in the State Street Thanksgiving Day Parade.

“The people of Chicago treat our queen and court very nicely and we look forward to being in their Thanksgiving Parade!” said Denise Yockey, Executive Director of the Michigan Apple Committee.

The State Street Thanksgiving Day Parade is a nationally televised event available in approximately 90 million households. ABC will carry a live broadcast of the program from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 24.

Fisher, of Berrien Springs will be accompanied by first runner-up Emily Westendorp of Dowagiac, and second runner-up Ashley Wright of Belding. The Michigan Apple Queen and her court will be riding the Michigan apple industry float, which has been designed in a fairy tale theme by former Michigan Apple Queen, Janna Klein.

The State Street Parade is also the last official appearance by Paula Fisher during her reign as Michigan Apple Queen. The 2006 Michigan Apple Queen will be selected in December.
