DeWitt, Mich. – Retailers have until December 24 to take advantage of the Michigan Apple Committee’s Holiday Baking rebate program by advertising select good-for-baking apple varieties.  Retailers qualify for up to $3,000 cash back.  The program has the added bonus of helping shoppers identify good varieties for baking.

“Our data indicates that apple pie is the most popular pie to make,” said Denise Donohue, Executive Director of the Michigan Apple Committee.  “It’s also known that most people will bake with apples at least once a year, and the majority of it is done around the holiday season.”

To be a part of the Holiday Baking Rebate program, merchants must run two ads featuring bagged Michigan Apple varieties (Cortland, Golden Delicious, Ida Red, Jonagold, Jonathan and/or Rome) and must be published by Dec. 24, 2011. The ads must include the Michigan Apple Committee registered logo or the words “Michigan Apples” to qualify.  All submissions must be postmarked before or on Jan. 25, 2012.  If requirements are met, retailers may receive $0.25 per case rebate up to $3,000.

This is one of three rebate programs offered by the Michigan Apple Committee. For more information on the rebate programs visit, MichiganApples.com/rebates.
