Michigan Apple Committee Welcomes New Staff Member
John Woodall on board as regional manager
LANSING, Mich. — The Michigan Apple Committee welcomed John Woodall today as regional manager covering the northern region of the United States. Woodall replaces Mike Bardon, who retired in June. Cam Harrington remains on staff covering the southern region.
“John comes to us with a great deal of experience in the retail arena,” said Diane Smith, executive director of the Michigan Apple Committee. “We welcome his energy and enthusiasm, as well as his strong work ethic. I am confident he’ll use his talents to implement meaningful programs that benefit both our retail partners as well as the 825 growers MAC represents.”
Most recently, Woodall served as produce/floral specialist for Lucky’s Market, based in Denver. Prior to that he had roles as produce buyer for Crosset Company and Caito Food Service, with specific experience in the apple category at both companies.
“I’ve spent most of my career working in produce retail, and I am excited to begin representing Michigan Apple growers in the retail marketplace,” said Woodall. “I hope to use my experience as a produce buyer to continue to grow the presence of Michigan Apples at retail.”
Woodall begins work for MAC on July 23, and will reach out to retail and industry partners right away.
“John will ‘hit the ground running’ with retail partners, ensuring a strong presence in retail for the fall,” said Smith.
The Michigan Apple Committee is a grower-funded nonprofit organization devoted to marketing, education and research activities to distinguish the Michigan apple and encourage its consumption in Michigan and around the world. For more information, visit www.MichiganApples.com.
