Worried about how the severe cold is impacting Mic Worried about how the severe cold is impacting Michigan’s apple crop? Don’t! Cold tolerant fruit crops such as apples have dormant buds and woody tissues capable of withstanding temperatures below –30°F. Michigan growers have resources from Michigan State University Extension such as Enviroweather, to help them track weather patterns, enabling them to make informed decisions on how to best care for their crop.
