Lansing, Mich. – The Michigan Apple Committee (MAC) has gotten a makeover! After over 25 years with the same logo, MAC has developed a new look more in line with its future marketing direction. The logo update comes after months of work with staff, board members and graphic designers.

“We are thrilled to present our new logo to growers, retailers and apple-eating consumers,” said Denise Yockey, Executive Director of the Michigan Apple Committee. “More than just a piece of modern artwork, we think the logo speaks to the fact that the Michigan apple is the locally-grown apple to consumers throughout the Great Lakes, and the Midwest. We are taking advantage of the trend by retailers to choose regionally-correct apples, and the consumers who want produce fresh from their region.”

“The new marketing direction also emphasizes the flavor advantage Michigan apples get from our Great Lakes environment, as well as a tip of the hat to the many flavors and varieties of apples we grow here.”

The logo will be added to the Web site, signage, stationary and all other materials produced by the Michigan Apple Committee.

The Michigan Apple Committee is a grower-funded nonprofit organization devoted to promotion, education and research activities to distinguish the Michigan apple and encourage its consumption by consumers in Michigan and around the world. For more information, visit www.michiganapples.com.
