DeWitt, Mich. – The Michigan Apple Committee announced today that Scott Hoerman has been hired as Northern Merchandiser, representing and merchandising fresh Michigan apples in a 10-state territory of the Upper Midwest.
Hoerman has over 20 years experience in food and beverage sales and marketing. An experienced manager, he has dealt with large accounts, increased sales volume and initiated new products, concepts and packaging.
“We are pleased to have Scott joining our team,” said Denise Yockey, Executive Director of the Michigan Apple Committee (MAC). “He brings experience, enthusiasm and knowledge of the food industry to the table, not only with mainstream produce retailers but also with food service, convenience stores and produce niche sectors. He will be a great asset, working for the Michigan apple growers.”
“I'm excited about bringing my extensive food industry experience to this professional organization, and to represent the Michigan apple growers in this highly competitive market,” Hoerman said.
Hoerman began work in early April, as the Michigan Apple Committee prepares for a busy fall harvest season. He will be based out of Homer Glen, Illinois, and may be reached through MAC at (800) 456-2753.
