Michigan Apple Queen Attends the National Cherry Festival
Last weekend was the National Cherry Festival in Traverse City. Jessica and I kicked off the weekend by attending the Cherry Queen Coronation Ball at the City Opera House downtown. We enjoyed the hors d’vuvre social hour, the auction as well as the formal ceremony and dance. Once the night wrapped up we headed back to the hotel, explaining to many passers-by who we were and what we were queens of.
On Saturday morning we attended the parade?the biggest one we?ve been to thus far. During the parade we saw everything from a herd of dressed up poodles to floats full of rowdy elementary school students?there was even a clown band. The Michigan Apple float ended up winning the Ambassador?s Award for the best animation on a float.
It was definitely a great weekend in the Cherry Capital of the World.
