Ingredients:
Crust:
3 cups flour
1 egg
1/3 cup water
1 1/3 cup shortening
1 Tbsp. vinegar
Ingredients for pie:
1 cup Pioneer sugar
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup flour
1 egg
2 tsp. vanilla
8 cups sliced Michigan McIntosh Apples
Topping:
1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cups pecan pieces
1/2 cup Pioneer sugar
3/4 cup flour
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup vanilla chips
Crust:
Pour flour in bowl. Cut in shortening, blend egg, vinegar and water. Add to flour mixture. Mix until dough makes a ball. Refrigerate 1 hour before rolling. Makes 4 single crusts.
Pie:
Blend sour cream, sugar, flour, egg and vanilla until smooth. Add apples and pour into shell. Bake at 400 degrees for 45 minutes. Use deep dish.
Topping:
Sprinkle topping mixture over baked pie and return to oven 5 minutes longer. Remove from oven and drizzle with melted vanilla chips.
