World Food Championships
The World Food Championships is a food competition and festival where hundreds of competitors come from across the globe to put forth their unique recipe and claim the ultimate title: World Food Champion and a $100,000 prize. Participants compete in local food competitions throughout the year and the top winners then proceed to the World Food Championships. In November 2017, this culinary expo took place in Orange Beach, Alabama.
For the fourth year, the Michigan Apple Committee was a Preferred Qualifier of the World Food Championships with our Michigan Apple Recipe Contest.
Every year MAC sponsors the contest at Zehnder’s of Frankenmuth Snowfest. The grand prize winner is awarded a round trip flight and entry in the World Food Championships from MAC.
The World Food Championship consists of nine categories and each recipe is tasted and carefully observed to find the best.
The Michigan Apple Committee is proud to be a Preferred Qualifier of the World Food Championships and will continue to celebrate recipes that represent the versatility and great-tasting flavor of Michigan Apples in any dish!
